Greetings my dear readers!
The day before yesterday I had the opportunity to see and experience snow for the first time in all its glory. It was exciting and very, very cold. At first I was excited, the snow was dry and everything was perfect but ... Everything changed when the water nation attacked ... The snow mixed with rain is not pretty ... it's horrible, terrible and I do not wish it on anyone.
On the positive side, winter is beautiful. When water freezes in the branch of the trees it makes them shine, it seems an enchanted forest taken out of a movie, and it’s beautiful. The falling of the snow is romantic (if it is dry, if not…NO) and when it accumulates turns the place into a large field of whiteness.
The international office has been outstanding in keeping us busy in interesting activities and helping us with this new transition. The breakfasts that used to be mildly silent became a space full of joy and laughter. International students are wonderful.
My roommate came home last night. I'm so happy! In just two days we have almost completed the list of things to do with college roommates, it's beautiful.
Classes began today, for me at 7 pm in the same building where I live. For others it was somewhat earlier and with no such luck, my building is the best. Proudly a Wemple (building name) Girl. Located in my building are the cafeteria, information technology services, the finance office, the registrar, other administrative offices, classrooms and laboratories. Which means that 1-I can go down to breakfast in pajamas, 2- I do not have to leave the building to solve any problems, and 3- that I'll have classes 3- 2 floors from where I sleep.
My first class was writing in English. It is a course designed for students whose first language is not English, to improve their writing skills and prepare for writing in a format acceptable to Canadian colleges. The teacher is a lovely person and very dynamic, so we had to talk about us and listen to others point of views.
This has been all quite a beauty. I am very excited and waiting for many more good things to come.
I will keep you up to date! Until next time folks.
